Harvey
We joyfully welcomed Harvey Noah Jackson on Monday, July 19th. All change!
After the final night of a family of three, we packed the car and headed to the hospital. The plan was to drop Mel off, then Darcey, and then return to the hospital. But, sometimes the best plans, don’t go to plan. Literally 2mins after dropping Mel off, Darcey vomited. That meant no daycare and we needed a new plan. Grandpa to the rescue.
Thankfully I didn’t miss much by the time I got to the hospital. Now we had to play the waiting game. Apparently, the birth of a second child is way quicker. Nope, not for us. Jackson Jnr was doing his best to stay put. Had too much of a good thing going on. He managed to stick around until 7:09 pm. Two pushes and he flew out. Instant love.
The following day, I introduced Darcey to her new brother and she was immediately smitten. It was a special moment when they looked into each other's eyes for the first time. Lots of cuddles and bonding. However, bringing them home was a bit of a challenge as the midwives seemed to be delaying the process for as long as possible. I wish there was better communication about what was happening.
Thankfully, after some gentle persuasion, we were able to bring them home and begin the next chapter. Its gona be fun :-)
